  • Reporter in the Toronto bureau of the Canadian Press as part of the Meta/Canadian Press Fellowship.
  • Reported on issues in the Greater Toronto Area that have national implications including, crime, refugee housing and health.
  • Covered various issues including the Greenbelt, crime, the environment and the Toronto Film Festival.

  • Worked with the PA Weekly education reporter on an investigative story regarding the firing of Foothill College’s president Thuy Nguyen.
  • Interviewed 5 transit agencies on their policies targeting young people after the pandemic.

Reporting Intern – Ottawa Citizen – June 2022 – July 2022

  • Reported to the City Editor daily to pitch stories and receive assignments.
  • Wrote on a variety of subjects in the Ottawa area including COVID-19 restrictions, passport delays and the opening of a new Indigenous women’s centre.
  • Required the ability to turn around stories within one working day.

  • Pitched and wrote articles relating to the Ontario provincial election and Canada Day protests.

Writer and Social Media Editor, The Raging Twenties News — November 2021 – December 2021

  • Publication produced by the graduate students at Carleton University’s School of Journalism.
  • Wrote an in-depth multimedia feature on the Green Party of Canada. Interviewed six individuals and created multimedia templates through Flourish, Canva and Tableau.
  • Wrote a same day written news story on youth engagement in municipal elections. Interviewed individuals in the street and wrote a 500-word news story.
  • Produced and edited social media for the publication. Utilized Twitter, Instagram, and Canva to make templates and promote the publication.
  • Copy-edited other students’ assignments.

Contributing Writer, The Martlet — September 2020 – March 2021

  • Student newspaper of the University of Victoria.
    • Wrote articles regarding the experiences of American students in Canada and municipal elections in Victoria.
    • Developed questions and conducted interviews with students and municipal election candidates.
    • Worked with senior editors to fact-check and revise the article to fit proper journalistic standards.

Student Assistant – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada – August 2022 – Present

  • Working under Human Resources in the Diversity and Inclusion branch.
  • Worked on a variety of projects to promote 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion in the workplace, including writing briefs and articles.
  • Wrote commemorative date articles to inform the ministry of upcoming holidays and cultural events.
  • Supported the HR branch on outstanding projects and assignments.

Graduate Teaching Assistant, Carleton University – September 2021 – Present

  • Held weekly tutorial sessions with 13 students to conduct assignments and answer questions they may have about the course. Required excellent skills in verbal communications, analysis, and problem-solving.
